Delhi Police busts betting racket during Cricket World Cup Final

delhi police5New Delhi: The North District Police cracked down upon a betting syndicate that was operating during the match between Australia and New Zealand during the Cricket World Cup final  on Sunday.

Three persons, who were allegedly involved in the betting racket,  have been arrested. According to AATS/North District Police here, the total amount invoved in betting was about Rs. 75 lakh. 12, Gali Thane Wali, Old Subzi Mandi, Delhi.

The betting racket was being operated from House No. 3612 located at Thane Wali Gali in Old Subzi Mandi area in old Delhi. Acting on a tipoff a police team comprising of team leader sub-inspector Vikram Singh, ASI Ajit Singh, head constables C Mahesh, Khushal Singh, Zakir, and constables Amit Sharma, and Devender Khatri under the supervision of inspector AATS North and overall supervision of ACP-Operation conducted a raid and nabbed the culprits Amit Sharma (320, Gaurav (30) and Mohit (32).

The Police have seized from them 9 mobile phones, an LCD T.V., a laptop and a calculator. A case under Sections 3, 4,5, 9, 55 D.P.G. Act has been registered at the Subzi Mandi Police Station.
