New Delhi: A team of Special Cell of Delhi Police has achieved a major breakthrough and solved a contract killing case, which was proving to be a bling murder by arresting a gangster and dreaded criminal Mohd Danish Jamal, alias Danish, a resident of Bulandshahar, from GB Road here. The police had announced a reward for his arrest.

Danish had flashed his pistol when he was surrounded by the police party but was overpowered and arrested. In a simultaneous operation, one Deepak Sirohi alias Bunty, also from Bulandshahar and a close associate of Danish was arrested near Dilshad Garden Metro Station parking area. he was also carrying a sophisticated pistol at the time of his arrest.

The Special Cell team of delhi Police comprising of Inspectors Lalit Mohan Negi, Hridaya Bhushan and ChandrikaPrasad, which has been working meticulously on inter-State gangsters, was looking for Danish for the last six months. On March 24, this team received information that Danish was planning to execute a heinous crime in Delhi and for this purpose he was expected to meet an associate near the Hanuman temple, adjacent to GB Road during the late evening hours. It was also learnt that one Deepak Sirohi alias Deepak, an associate of Danish, will be meeting a contact person near Dilshad Garden Metro Station parking area and then he would be joining Danish.

Acting swiftly, two separate teams were formed a trap was laid near Hanuman temple, near GB Road and another near the parking bay of Dilshad Garden Metro Station. In late eveninghours, Danish was spotted coming on a black Pulser motorcycle. He stopped his motor cycle near Shahganj crossing and started waiting for someone. Once identified, he was asked to surrender but the gangster whipped out his pistol and pointed it towards the police party and tried to flee from the spot. After a brief scuffle, the police party managed to overpower him and took control of his pistol. A case under section 186/353/307 of IPC and Sections 25/27/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against him at Special Cell Police station. The second team, spotted Deepak at the same time when he was coming on a white TVS Apache motorcycle from the Ghaziabad side. He was also stopped and overpowered by the police party. He was carrying a .32 bore revolver and four live cartridges. A case under sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act has been registered against himn by the Special Cell.

While being on the run, Danish had got involved in a contract killing in the New Friends Colony area. Along with him, the other arrested criminal Deepak and few more were involved in this contract killing. He had been declared a ‘Proclaimed Offender’ as he had jumped bail in the case, which was investigated by the Special Cell.

Danish (27) committed the first major crime in 2009, when along with his associates, he had robbed a petrol pump owner at gunpoint and killed the guard.

After this, along with his associates, Danish had robbed Rs 1.80 Lacs from one Dinesh Mishra when he was returning after collecting his company’s cash in the Jafrabad area. In 2010, he robbed Rs. 55 Lacs from a businessman near Jai Mata Di market, Keshav Puram at gunpoint and followed it up with another sensational robbery of Rs. 49 Lacs at gunpoint from the employees of Orient Craft Company in Okhla Phase-I while the victim employees were carrying the amount in a vehicle after withdrawing cash from Corporation Bank, M-Block, GK-II, Delhi.

In late 2010, the Special Cell had apprehended 3 inter-state robbers, including Danish and had recovered arms, ammunition, a Zen car and part of the looted cash. After spending about three years in jail, during which he had developed a strong network of criminals, he was granted bail in 2013. he is the first cousin of one Naasir, the most dreaded member of Naasir-Hashim gang operating in Trans-Yamuna area of Delhi. After committing a number of sensational crimes Sabir became a key operative of the Naasir-Hashim gang. While Danish was on bail, one Tabreiz, a close resource person of Naasir was murdered by the henchmen of one Aakil alias Mama, who was another dreaded gangster in the area and was fighting a bitter turf war with the Naasir-Hashim gang. Danish seized the opportunity and in an act of daylight brutality, committed the gruesome murder of Aakil “Mama”. This murder was witnessed by one Zahid, the brother of the deceased.

Ever since then, Danish was planning the liquidation of Zahid. On May 19, 2014, Danish along with his associates fired several rounds at Zahid who suffered critical bullet injuries on his chest but survived. A case of attempt to murder was registered on the statement of victim Zahid. After this incident, Zahid was provided round the clock police protection. Even an armed PSO was no deterrant for this gangster who along with his associates, on October 10last year intercepted the motorcycle of Zahid at Main Road, Jafrabad and after throwing chilli powder in the eyes of the PSO, opened indiscriminate firing on Zahid who died on the spot. Since then, Danish had become synonymous with terror in Trans-Yamuna Delhi and neighbouring districts of western Uttar Pradesh.

While being on the run, he got involved in another contract killing in the area of PS New Friends Colony alongin conspiracy with the other arrested accused Deepak and others. He had been declared a ‘Proclaimed Offender’ as he had jumped bail in the case investigated by the Special Cell. While he had come to Delhi to conspire for another heinous crime, he was apprehended by the Special Cell.

Deepak Sirohi (30) joined the UP Home Guards and served the uniformed force for about five years. After leaving Home Guards,he started working as a property dealer. As a property dealer, he got in touch with one Imran (presently in Dasna Jail), an associate of Danish who had come to him for a rented accommodation. Gradually, Deepak became close friends with Imran and through him, befriended Danish and another desperate criminal Ible Hassan (presently in Tihar Jail). Deepak along with Ible Hassan and Danish and others executed a contract killing in which a prominent manpower agent of South Delhi Farrukh was killed at the behest of his business rival settled abroad (in West Asia). In August/September 2014, the conspiracy to murder Farrukh Khan, a resident of Okhla was hatched. Deepak was given the task of conducting a reconnaissance of the movements of Farrukh Khan. On September 22, 2014, Deepak informed about the movements of Farrukh Khan to Ible Hassan and his associates who committed the cold blooded murder of Farrukh. A case under Section 302 IPC has been registered by the New Friends Colony Police Station in this case. A reward of Rs. 1,00,000 was announced by the Delhi Police Commissioner for cracking this case. With the arrest of Deepak and Danish, this blind murder case has been solved.
