New Delhi: Chief Secretary of the central Indian State of Madhya Pradesh Anthony de Sa was conferred SKOCH National Challenger Award-2015 by Union Minister of State for Finance Jayant Sinha in New Delhi on Sunday.
The Chief Secretary has been awarded for outstanding role in delivery of public services. Madhya Pradesh’s Women and Child Development Minister Maya Singh was also conferred an award for Women’s empowerment. Others who have received this award include C.B. Bhave, Sam Pitroda, Sudha Pillai, Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Nandan Neelekeni, Chanda Kochar, P. Chidambaram, C. Rangarajan, Deepak Parekh and Wajahat Habibullah.
The Chief Secretary has been awarded for administrative efficiency in social security, women and children’s welfare, education, agriculture, food security, self-employment, skill development, financial inclusion works and in online monitoring of schemes. Madhya Pradesh has has played a leading role in the country in empowering women and Public Services Delivery Guarantee Act. Madhya Pradesh has also set an examples in major sectors of development. At the function, the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to former Union Finance Minister Yashwant Sinha. Former awardees Vijay Kelkar and N.K. Singh were also present.
