New Delhi: Delhi Police have arrested two hardcore criminals planning a murder and recovered from them a loaded revolver with six rounds, a pistol with 4 rounds and a motorcycle they had robbed earlier.

Those arrested have been identified as Shahnawaj “Abid Mota” (25), resident of Mustafabad in Delhi and Anil “Sonu Matka” (30), resident of Harijan Basi, East Gokalpur here, three cases of robbery with attempt to murder and one case of murder have been solved by the Jafrabad Police station in the North east district of Delhi.

On March 11, around 10 am, an informer told the Police that two desperate criminals carrying weapons would be passing through the Jafrabad area. A police team comprising of SI Rohit Kumar, ASI Virender, Gajender, Krishan, Kuldeep, all of them constables, under the supervision of Inspector Om Singh, ATO Jafrabad, under the command of Anand Kumar Mishra, ACP, Seelampur Sub.Division Seelampur was pressed into action.
The POlice laid a trap at Main Brahampuri Road near Kalyan Cinema. At about 10.15 am two youths, who were on a Black motorcycle (UP-14-CA-6861) and were coming from the Ghonda Chowk side on Main Brahampuri Road and heading towards Seelampur were identified by the informers and stopped. On search them, a loaded Pistol and 4 live Cartridges of 7.65 Bore was recovered from Shahnawaj and a loaded revolver with six rounds, along with 4 live cartridges were seized from their possession.

The POlice have registered separate cases against them under Sections 25/54/59 of the Arms Act and Sections 25/54/59A of the Arms Act against them. The black motorcycle they wee riding has also been seized. It was found that this motorcycle was robbed by them from the Jyoti Nagar Police station area.Another case in this regard is already registered at the Jyoti Nagar POlice station, Delhi. On investigation, the Police sound that the genuine registration number of this motorcycle is DL-7SBS-2922.

The two arrested persons have disclosed that they were involved in planning the murder of one Mobin, who is a complainant in a Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) case against one Iqbal Gazi.

Shahnawaz was earlier caught by the police at Bulandshahar along with one of his associates. He was also arrested in a criminal case and was in judicial custody for about 4 months.
