New Delhi: CBDT has issued instructions to Principal Chief Commissioners of Income Tax to ensure that officers assigned the responsibility of performing the role of Expenditure Observer for general elections to the Delhi legislative Assembly and some bye-elections to reach their assigned Assembly constituency or the district headquarter by March 13 (for Delhi Assembly constituencies and March 19 in case of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu bye-elections) for the 3rd visit after 30 days of declaration of results for submission of their reports.
The Election commission of India had written to CBDT earlier this year to make their third visit immediately after 30 days of declaration of results. The Expenditure Observers have to submit their final report (Report-IV) to the Commission with their comments and assist the District Election Officer (DEO) in preparation of the statutory report.
The Expenditure Observers will assist the DEO in scrutinising the statements of accounts of election expenditure lodged by the candidates after declaration of results for maximum 7 days.
The Expenditure officers, who have been asked to report on duty are Ranjeet Singh, Manish Kumar Singh, Tarun Jarwal, Tarun Kumar Kanaujia, Bhola Ram Dewasi, Rajesh ranjan Prasad, Ajit Kumar Shrivastava, Pradumna Kumar Singh (deployed state for all of them is NCT of Delhi) and V. Nanda Kumar (deployed State: Andhra Pradesh).
