Kerala RSS leader’s murder: CBI files charge sheet against 19 accused
New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation has today filed Charge Sheet before the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Thalassery (Kerala) against 19 accused persons under Sections 120(B), 143, 147, 148, 324, 307, 302, 149, 201, 202, 212 of Indian Penal Code, beside Section 15(1)(a)(i) read with 16(a) & 19 of the UAPA Act and section 3 & 5 of the Explosive Substances Act in a case relating to alleged murder of Elamthottathil Manoj, office bearer of a private organization.
CBI had registered the case on November 5, 2014 on the request of the Kerala Government and taken over the investigation in Crime No 780/2014 of Kathirur Police Station, Thalassery , Kannur(Kerala), relating to the alleged murder of Elamthottathil Manoj, a kerala RSS leader. A bomb was hurled at him and he was fatally stabbed on September 1 last year when he was travelling in a Maruti van through Kathirur – Ukkas Motta road in Kathirur Amsam (Panchayat), by a group of workers belonging to a Political Party.
In this ghastly incident, a co-rider with Manoj, also suffered knife and blast injuries. Manoj had allegedly suffered 17 stab wounds and multiple abrasions and contusions due to the blast. After committing the murder the accused persons had also hurled bombs to generate terror in the area.
