Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister and former state chief minister Babulal Gaur honored prominent personalities from the sphere of journalism, bureaucracy, social service, and literature at an impressive award ceremony organised by Vichitra Kumnar Sinha Memorial Society here this weekend.
Vichitra Kumar Sinha Memorial Society each year honors important personalities from the field of Journalism, Literature, Politics, Social Service, Administration, and Law.
Addressing the Vichitra Kumar Sinha Award function at TTTI Auditorium, Gaur said that dedicated, service-oriented persons and those who lead a life of Karmayogi command respect and honour.
Member of Parliament Alok Sanjar and newly elected city Mayor Alok Sharma were also present on the occasion.
Gaur conferred the Able Administrator Award to State Election Commissioner and former chief secretary R. Parasuram, Devoted Politician Award to Alok Sanjar, Outstanding Journalist Award to Newsroom24x7 Editor-in-Chief Lalit Shastri, Freedom Fighter Award to nonagenarian Laxman Das Keswani, Littérateur Award to Yatindranath Rahi and Social Service Award to Sister Clare Francis.
Gaur recalled late Vichitra Kumar Sinha’s contribution and the role he had played as a Freedom fighter. He said that Sinha always followed the path of truth and sacrifice.
The Vichitra Kumar Sinha memorial Award for lifetime achievement was given to the nonagenarian Freedom fighter Lakshmandas Keswani, Editor-in-Chief newsroom24x7.com Lalit Shastri for journalism, Yatindranath “rahi” (Literature), Alok Sanjar, Member of Parliament-Bhopal (Politics), and Shalom Special School (Social Service).
The society also honored Chief State Election Commissioner and ex-chief secretary Madhya Pradesh, R. Parshuram with the Ganga Prasad Shrivastava Memorial Award for Administration and Justice Sheela Khanna with the Vijay Gupta Memorial Award for Law.
