Senior IAS officer’s husband arrested in recruitment scam case

pebBhopal, Jan. 20: The Special task Force of Madhya Pradesh Police investigating and handling the huge MP Porefessional Examination Board (PEB) scam today arrested Amit Pandey, husband of a senior IAS officer borne on Madhya Pradesh cadre, after he was interrogated for over two hours at the STF headquarters in the State capital.

One of the key accused in the PEB admission and recruitment scam, the dismissed MPPEB exam controller Pankaj Trivedi had accused Amit Pandey, husband of an additional chief secretary rank Madhya Pradesh government officer, of being involved in the recruitment of contractual teachers in 2011.

Former Madhya Pradesh minister Laxmikant Sharma, former officer on special duty (OSD) to minister Laxmikant Sharma, OP Shukla, former OSD to governor Ram Naresh Yadav, Dhanraj Yadav, are among those arrested and sent to jail in the PEB scam case. They are facing the charge of recommending candidates for selection as contract teachers.

In his statement before the STF, Pankaj Trivedi had recorded that Amit Pandey recommended names of several candidates for selection.
